" I reckoned I would go over the lake and find out what was going on…couldn't I placed on some of them old things and dress up just like a girl? ”(60) Jim seems skeptical about adventures, but Huck is always pushing him to do anything fun. For example , Huck stresses Jim in trying to get the company of criminals. Huck says,
